Friendly Competition Brings Together Reading Police Officers and Seniors at The Residence at Pearl Street

Reading, MA — Officers from the Reading Police Department recently visited seniors at The Residence at Pearl Street recently for a lively afternoon of Family Feud-style fun and friendly competition.

“These officers come to visit us every couple of months, and our residents always look forward to it,” said Beverly Curry, Residence Engagement Director at The Residence at Pearl Street. “We had the idea of playing Family Feud, and the officers loved it. The room was filled with laughter, friendly banter, and plenty of competitive spirit. Our residents and the officers had such a great time and were already asking when the rematch will be! It’s moments like these that remind us how meaningful these multi-generational community relationships are.”

Beyond the friendly rivalry, the event offered residents and officers a chance to share stories and connect on a personal level. Adding to the excitement, beloved police dog Rusty was also in attendance, interacting with residents posing for photos.

“This connection between the Reading Police Department and The Residence at Pearl Street truly exemplifies what community is all about,” Curry added. “These visits create lasting memories for our residents and remind us that even small moments of kindness can have a big impact.”
