Celebrate Farm Day at the Reading Public Library on May 17

Meet alpacas, learn about therapy animals, and discover sustainable farming with local farmers at this family-friendly event

Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA — Animals helping humans and sustainable farming practices are the focus of the library’s first-ever Farm Day on Saturday, May 17, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Head to the library lawn to meet special guests from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch and farmers from Newhall Fields Community Farm. They will showcase different aspects of planting and growing food crops in New England.

Event Schedule:

  • 12:00 PM: Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be on the library lawn, teaching kids about their farm and the unique relationship of therapy animals.
  • 1:00 PM: Newhall Fields and six New England farmers will present various stations for kids to learn about and try planting lima beans, sunflowers, herbs, and more.
