Colonial Chorus Players presents Into the Woods

Though fearful of what they will encounter, Jack (Mike Buck), Little Red (Ts Burnham), and the Baker (Maeve McCluskey) all dare to go into the woods, urged on by the Witch (Lali Haines) in Colonial Chorus Players’ production of Into the Woods May 5–7.

Reading, MA — Once upon a time . . . in the Town of Reading at a little theater company called Colonial Chorus Players, a visionary director, accomplished music director, and eighteen uniquely gifted actors came together to create a bold, fresh production of a beloved musical.

For the first time in its 62-year history, Colonial Chorus Players presents Stephen Sondheim’s modern masterpiece Into the Woods May 5–7, 2023. With an original take on everything from staging to casting, and costumes to set design, this isn’t your Granny’s Into the Woods!

Three performances only May 5 and 6 at 7 PM and May 7 at 2 PM at Shepardson Hall at Parker Middle School in Reading.

Into the Woods is directed by Corey Cadigan, with musical direction by Alan Freedman, both newcomers to CCP. “Throughout the rehearsal process, Corey and Alan have brought both innovation and experience to this familiar musical, which we feel will be very compelling to audiences,” says producer Jennifer Estabrooks. “If you think you have seen Into the Woods before, think again.”

Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for seniors and students. All seats are reserved seating. For advance ticket purchase, visit www.ccp1961.org. If a performance is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door one hour before showtime with cash, check, or Venmo only.
