Anyone who knows me knows I’m not exactly known for being shy. I’ve got opinions, I share them freely, and I’m not always the guy bringing calm, soothing energy to a conversation. Which is exactly why I’m supporting my friend, Sal Bramante for Select Board here in Reading, because he is. In a town that can at times get weirdly polarized over things that shouldn’t be that complicated, he’s the guy who doesn’t lose his head. He listens, he thinks, and somehow manages to get people who disagree to actually agree.
He’s also just a legitimately great guy. The kind of guy who will pick you up at 2AM if you’re stranded somewhere, no questions, no complaints. The kind of guy who shows up at your house to help fix an electrical or plumbing issue, even though you absolutely should’ve called a professional. That’s not campaign material, that’s just who he is.
He’s a longtime Reading resident, a husband, a father of four (which, frankly, is already proof of patience and negotiation skills), and someone who actually cares about what happens here. On top of that, he’s been both a business owner and currently serves as operations manager at a large corporation that is owned by a private equity firm, so he knows how to make decisions, manage personalities, understand budgeting/finance, and deal with real-world tradeoffs.
For those who know Sal then you know none of this is news. If you do not, please get to know him. I am happy to endorse Sal for the role on the Town Select Board.
