Dear Neighbors and Fellow Residents,
I am writing to formally announce my candidacy for re-election as a Town Meeting Member for Precinct 2. Having served two terms, I am seeking your support for a third to continue the important work of representing our community with a steady, experienced hand.
As a lifelong resident of Reading, my commitment to this town is personal. This is where I have lived, worked, and dedicated my career. My background as a retired town employee provides me with a unique “inside-out” understanding of how our municipal departments function, from the daily operational challenges to long-term infrastructure needs.
Currently, I serve on the Reading Retirement Board, where I work to ensure the long-term financial stability of our system. This role requires a focus on fiduciary duty, transparency, and fiscal prudence—the same principles I bring to every Town Meeting vote. Whether we are discussing the annual operating budget, capital improvements, or local bylaws, my priority is always to represent all residents fairly.
Experience matters in local government. My past and current roles have equipped me with the knowledge needed to have a positive impact on the direction of our town.
I would be honored to earn your vote on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to discuss any town issues or have questions about my candidacy.
Sincerely,
David Gentile
