Reading, MA — Reading voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for the town’s annual local election. Voting will take place at the Walter Hawkes Field House, with polls open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

This year’s ballot includes contested races for both the Select Board and the School Committee.

Four candidates are running for two seats on the Select Board. Incumbents Carlo Bacci and Karen Herrick are seeking reelection and will face challengers Salvatore Bramante and Anthony D’Arezzo.

Three candidates are competing for two seats on the School Committee. Incumbent Erin Gaffen is seeking another term and is joined on the ballot by challengers Greoffrey Coram and Lori Hayes.

Reading Recap will host 2026 Local Election Candidate Conversation Forums later this month, providing voters with an opportunity to hear directly from candidates in the contested races. The Select Board forum will take place on March 26 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, followed by the School Committee forum on March 27 from 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Both will be streamed live online and broadcast on local television.

Several other positions will appear on the ballot without opposition. Christian Popp and Monettee Verrier are running unopposed for the Board of Library Trustees, Robert Coulter is unopposed for Light Board Commissioner, and Alan Foulds is running unopposed for Town Moderator.

The election will determine who fills these local leadership roles for the coming term. Voters are encouraged to review the candidates and participate in the election on April 7.
