Lynne S. Olson-Bush, a resident of Reading for 47 years, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side after a brief illness on October 7, 2025. Lynne was born on October 4, 1952, in Newton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Anita (Powell) Olson and the late Clarence E. Olson.
Lynne was the beloved wife of Larry Bush. Cherished sister of the late Mark Olson and loving aunt of Stephanie McCabe of Secane, PA, and Chad Olson of Summerfield, FL. Sister-in-law of Arnie and the late Lesley Burr; loving aunt of Dave, Matt, and Caitlin; great-aunt of Carver, Weston, Lucy, and Chloe. Cousin of Jack and Gary.
Lynne grew up in Needham and graduated from Bunker Hill Community College. Lynne worked in a variety of jobs, including home health aide, bookseller, and balsawood airplane packager for Guillow’s of Wakefield.
Lynne was a longtime supporter of Wolf Hollow in Ipswich and had a fascination with Native American culture. She was an inveterate reader, and loved TV series such as NCIS, Babylon 5, Star Trek, Xena, and Highlander.
Lynne traveled in England, Scotland, and Germany, attended science fiction conventions in Las Vegas, Providence, Springfield, and Marlborough, and went on three ocean cruises with family, but she especially loved relaxing in Ludlow, Vermont, and Camden, Maine. She patiently endured her husband’s fascination with railroad trains.
Lynne loved dogs, especially Cashew the Cocker and Harmon the Yorkie.
A visitation will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Saturday, 25 October from 11AM to 1PM. Casual clothing is mandatory. Lynne’s funeral and burial will be private.
