READING – Chief David Clark reports that Reading Police arrested and charged two men with shoplifting after an incident at a Home Depot earlier this month.

TYLER CLARK, AGE 21, of MELROSE and LUIZ De FATIMA, AGE 33, of EVERETT were arrested and charged with:

Shoplifting over $250 by Concealing
On Thursday, Aug. 15, at about 11:14 a.m., Reading Police were dispatched to the area of New Crossing Road for a report of two men who had allegedly stolen from the Home Depot located at 60 Walkers Brook Drive.

An initial investigation informed officers that two suspects had been seen exiting Home Depot carrying drawstring backpacks and were acting suspicious.

A subsequent investigation determined that a witness had confronted the men, at which point they ran from the store in the direction of Anthony’s Cold Fired Pizza.

Officers were able to get a description of the clothes the suspects were wearing.

Officers located two men that matched the description of the suspects and identified them as CLARK and De FATIMA.

Through a subsequent investigation, officers found two backpacks containing an estimated $764 worth of merchandise. The men were unable to provide a receipt for any of the items in the backpacks.

CLARK and De FATIMA were arrested without incident.

CLARK and De FATIMA were arraigned in Woburn District Court on Thursday, Aug. 15.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
