Reading Police Department Arrest and Charge Wilmington Man with OUI

READING – Chief David Clark reports that Reading Police arrested and charged a Wilmington man with Operating Under the Influence. 

NATHAN NELSON, AGE 41, of WILMINGTON, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • OUI Liquor
  • Red Light Violation

On Aug. 9, at approximately 9:50 p.m. Reading Police officers operating in the area of Main Street and Woburn Street observed a gray 2022 GMC Canyon fail to stop at a red light. 

Reading Police initiated their emergency lights and conducted a motor vehicle stop. 

Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle, determined to be NELSON.   

A preliminary investigation, as a result of a field sobriety test, determined that NELSON was operating under the influence. During the field sobriety test, it was determined that NELSON’s blood alcohol level was .149, almost twice the legal limit.

NELSON was arrested without incident. 

NELSON was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Aug. 12. 

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
