Reading Police Department Arrest and Charge Peabody Man with OUI

READING – Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department arrested and charged a Peabody man with driving while drunk.

ALBERT SALSGIVER, AGE 74, of PEABODY, was arrested and charged with:

Operating Under the Influence
On Saturday, April 20, at approximately 1:33 a.m. Reading Police responded to the area of Haverhill Street for a report of a heavily damaged vehicle that was stopped on the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers located a Jeep Liberty near 300 Haverhill St. that appeared to have significant front-end damage, consistent with a motor vehicle crash.

Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle, determined to be SALSGIVER.

A preliminary investigation, as a result of a field sobriety test, determined that SALSGIVER was operating under the influence.

SALSGIVER was transported to a local hospital out of an abundance of caution.

SALSGIVER was held on $240 bail and was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
