Obituary: Paul “Ducky” Turenne, 62, RMHS Class of ’79

November 16, 1961 ~ March 17, 2024

Paul M. Turenne, beloved husband of Judith A. (Burns) Turenne, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 62, with his loving family at his side. Born in Winchester, Paul is the loving son of the late Leo and Barbara (McLean) Turenne.

Paul grew up in Reading and graduated from Reading Memorial High School. As a young boy, Paul affectionately earned the nickname Ducky, which stuck with him his entire life. Ducky was a talented athlete, excelling in Baseball, Hockey, and Golf. He continued to play hockey for New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. 

Ducky began his working career as a sales representative selling commercial furniture. He went out on his own and became successful with his business, McGlynn Associates. Ducky married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Judy, in 1985, and they raised their family in Reading. He was a beloved coach for Reading, Stoneham and Winchester Hockey, he was an avid golfer and member of the Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham and also enjoyed fishing.

Ducky also loved to be at his second home in Bartlett, New Hampshire, relaxing and enjoyed the scenery. He had a personality that everyone loved. A hard worker and genuine guy, Ducky made sure to make the best out of any situation. He was a loving and dear friend to many, devoted family man and great person. He will be deeply missed by all who had him in their lives. 

Paul is the devoted father of Lauren Reynolds and her husband William of Tewksbury, Shauna Wagner and her husband Bryan of Weare, NH and Ryan Turenne and his girlfriend Emma Larke of Reading. Cherished grandfather of Russell Wagner. Loving brother of Karen Turenne of Reading, Susan Fuller of Castleton, VT and Sharon Turenne of Shirley. Beloved brother-in-law of Susan DiGrazi and her husband Bob, Peter Burns and his wife Katie, Michael Burns and the late Richard Burns, Jr. Paul leaves many loving nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, from 4 to 7pm.

Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, Friday, March 22, 2024, at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral mass celebrating Paul at St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading.

Burial to follow in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
