Robert S. Clark Jr. of Reading, MA died peacefully at home on September 24, 2023, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 19, 1935. He was the son of the late Robert S. Clark and Katherine Ranger and stepson of Florence Morse. His family lived in various places settling in Wellesley, MA, in the 1950s.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith A. (Ridlon). He was a devoted and loving father to his two children, Andrew S. Clark and Sarah Nazarian, and her husband, Cory, his grandson, Connor, and step-grandson, Dylan of Reading. His three brothers are Ranger of Natick, Jock, his wife Carol of Naples, Florida, Jeff his wife Jill of Wayland, MA.
After graduating from Wellesley High School in 1954, he served in the US Air Force in Germany & Kansas for six years. He worked at the Doble Engineering Company in Watertown for 42 years. He enjoyed many camping vacations with his family when his children were growing up, especially tending the campfires. Later he and Judy enjoyed many great trips in the U.S., Europe, and the islands. He spent the last few years relaxing in his comfy den, watching science, sci-fi, history, and old movies and reading the Globe daily. He liked to quiz us at suppertime about the facts he learned while enjoying a glass of scotch.
A memorial service will be held at the F.C.C. in Stoneham on October 14th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Book of Remembrance at the First Congregational Church, 1 Church St. Stoneham, MA.
