Reading, MA – Chief David Clark and the Reading Police Department are pleased to announce the promotion of Maria Nacopoulos to the rank of Sergeant.

Officer Nacopoulos will officially be appointed to her new rank on Monday, July 10.

“I want to congratulate Officer Nacopoulos on her well-deserved promotion,” said Chief Clark. “Throughout her career, she has gone above and beyond in her service to the Reading Police Department and I am excited to see her continue to contribute to the department and the community as a Sergeant.”

Officer Nacopoulos has been a member of the Reading Police Department since January 2020. Officer Nacopoulos has also received the department’s Life Saving Ribbon for her quick actions in administering CPR to an unconscious individual, which contributed to his resuscitation.

She graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Plymouth State University in 2017.
