Arlene M. (Heath) Harper, a resident of Reading for 54 years, passed away on November 7, 2022, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. She was 86 years of age.
Arlene was born in Rockport, ME, on January 26, 1936, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Jenkins) Heath.
She was educated in Rockport, ME graduating with the class of 1954. She was eagerly awaiting her great-granddaughter to be born at the end of November. Among her favorite activities were playing cards, bingo and making beaded jewelry. November 7th was also her mother’s birthdate, whom she dearly loved.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard O. Harper. Devoted mother of Kenneth G. Harper and his wife Patricia of Tyngsboro, Sandra A. Ciaffoni and her husband Timothy of Rochester, Richard L. Harper and his wife Jenn of Leominster, William R. Harper and his wife Dianna of Wilmington. Cherished sister of Shirlene (Hoch) Gosline. Loving grandmother of Mark and Shawn Geanakakis, Kennedy Harper and her wife Shanell, Michael, MacKenzie, Chancellor, Jesse, Emily, Nathan and Cameron Harper.
Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery in Reading.
