As we approach town elections on April 5, it gives me great pleasure to endorse Nancy Tawadros for a position on the Reading Select Board. Nancy is a long-term resident who recognizes why Reading is a wonderful place to raise her family. Her commitment to service, professional experience, and common-sense/collaborative approach to problem solving are some of the reasons why I feel she would be an asset to the Select Board.
Nancy’s commitment to service is second to none. Her extensive work with people experiencing homelessness; those with food insecurity; and women who have suffered physical, emotional, and sexual abuse shows not only her devotion to community, but who she is as a person. Her genuinely kind heart, compassionate engagement, and earnest desire to serve others—coupled with extensive professional experience—will propel her to be a thoughtful leader and decision-maker. She will do what is best for our wonderful town.
The Town of Reading will additionally benefit from Nancy’s wide-ranging professional experience. Nancy knows people: she knows how to work with, motivate, and move project teams together in a direction that will advance the organization. She will be a resource to fellow board members in making decisions to serve our town. Nancy is task-oriented, driven, and gets the job done. Nancy was recently tasked with delivering a high-level strategy initiative within the people operations function at her company. The strategy was so unique and successful that it was implemented immediately; the company is already seeing results from her hard work. That initiative was put on her plate in January, the same month that she committed to run for local office. She effectively executed her project in addition to not only running a campaign, but also during the height of dance competition season for her two daughters… I can certainly appreciate what type of coordination, dedication, and get-the-job-done attitude she must bring to the table in order to survive these past months! This is someone I want working for our community. Nancy exemplifies the saying, “If you want to get something done, give it to a busy person!”
Nancy approaches issues and tasks in a common-sense collaborative manner that allows ALL voices and perspectives to be heard and valued. As a strategic and critical thinker, she will consider all aspects of an issue and apply her skills and hustle to achieve results that will enhance and strengthen our community. This united and team-focused approach is invaluable.
I strongly urge all Reading voters to join with me, on Tuesday, April 5, in casting your vote for a most deserving and qualified candidate—Nancy Tawadros.
Sincerely,
Carla Nazzaro
