Leslie (Lord) Smith, a longtime resident of Reading, passed away on January 1 st, 2022.
Born on June 22, 1955, in Arlington, she was the loving daughter to Shirley Lord and the late Arthur Lord. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend who will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have been in her life.
Leslie moved to Reading, shortly after marrying her high school sweetheart. She dedicated over 20 years to the Reading school system as a paraeducator.
Leslie was devoted to her family and friends who meant the world to her. She was always there for those she loved. She adored being with her grandchildren, going for walks and sharing laughs with her friends, and spending time at the beach. She was an avid reader and had a flair for accessorizing all her outfits to match the occasion.
Leslie was the beloved wife of Richard Smith and devoted mother of Mihaela and Eric. She was the cherished grandmother of Emily and Zachary Mabius, Mother-in-law of David Mabius, and a loved sister-in-law and aunt.
A private viewing will be held at Barile funeral home in Reading and a memorial service will be planned for the spring of 2022 at Old South Church.
