Obituary: John (Jack) William Richmond, 68

John (Jack) William Richmond of Indianapolis, IN, and formerly of Reading, MA passed away on October 8, 2021.

Jack was born on August 17, 1953, to the late William and Patricia (Lane) Richmond. Shortly after graduating from high school, he relocated with his parents to Indianapolis where he pursued a career as an electrician. He was accepted into and completed the IBEW Local 481 apprenticeship program.
Although Jack lived more years in Indianapolis than he lived in Massachusetts, he always considered the New England area his “home” and enjoyed annual trips to the East coast to visit family and friends.

Jack shared his many electrical and handyman talents willingly with those who needed his help. He honored his Scottish heritage by playing the drums in two local bagpipe bands. He was a generous soul and had a far-reaching impact on countless individuals. He will be missed by many.
Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jackie Funke Richmond, son Brian Richmond (Amy), daughter Beth Reichl (Matt), granddaughter Mackenzie Richmond, grandson Max Reichl, brother Steven Richmond (Chris), and sister, Robin Richmond Keever.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Alexander and Georgie Richmond and Walter and Frances Lane, and a brother James Richmond.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 am in Laurel Hill Cemetery, 16 Lowell St, Reading, MA 01867. To place an online memory of Jack please visit https://www.orileyfuneralhome.com/obituaries/John-W-Jack-Richmond?obId=22669671
