Geraldine C. “Gerre” (Sullivan) Daley. A 2 year resident of Reading and formerly of Charlestown and Randolph, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 7, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Reading. She was 81 years of age.
Gerre was born in Boston on October 2, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward T. Sullivan and Margaret M. (Norton) Sullivan. She grew up in South Boston where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from South Boston High School. Gerre worked as a secretary for State Street Bank, Bank of New England, and Fleet Bank in Boston. She was a member of the Banker’s Association. She enjoyed yoga, was an avid Boston Sports fan, and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Gerre is the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Frank L. Daley. She is the devoted mother of Geraldine “Gerry” Daley. She is the loving Nana Beep to James Kane Jr. and his wife Susan, Patrick Kane and his wife Rosanna, Michelle Kane Hennessy and her husband Quinn, and her great-grandchildren Briana, Alexis, Quinn Jr., Isabella, and Logan. She is the mother-in-law of Jimmy Kane. She is the dear friend of Roy Joffre. She is the beloved sister of John Sullivan, Margaret McDonald, and the late Edward T. Sullivan Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gerre’s Funeral on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH).
