To the Editor:

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this letter of support for Sarah McLaughlin for Reading School Committee. Sarah is a thoughtful, independent thinker who will work tirelessly for all students in Reading Public Schools. Her experiences as Chair of the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), Town Meeting Member, and as a volunteer for various community groups speaks to her commitment and dedication to the Town of Reading.

I have known Sarah for nearly five years, including three as her colleague at a cross-functional healthcare technology company. In this context, I know Sarah to be a team-oriented leader who is skilled at developing plans, building consensus, assessing progress, and delivering results to stakeholders. Sarah is transparent, never afraid to ask difficult questions, open to new perspectives, and willing to adapt her thinking and acknowledge when a different approach is warranted. I share this perspective because I truly believe these are the qualities we should endeavor to have in our elected officials – someone who will listen, someone who will consider different perspectives and data sources, and someone who will work collaboratively with others to make informed decisions that benefit all.

I hope you will join me in casting your vote for Sarah McLaughlin on April 6!
