December 16, 1931 – March 25, 2021
John K. Crosby, of Wilmington, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021, with his family at his side. He was 89 years of age.
Born in Medford, John was the son of the late Dermot K. Crosby and Agnes (Lang) Crosby.
John proudly defended our freedom as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
John was very active in the Town of Reading. He co-owned and operated J & B Crosby and Company on Haven St. in Reading for many years. He volunteered as a long-time member of the Reading Rotary Club. He was a very active member going to weekly meetings as well as many social events.
John was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
John is the beloved husband of Barbara (French) Crosby. Devoted father of David Crosby, Michael Crosby and his wife Laurie, Steven Crosby and his wife Terre, and Brian Crosby and his wife Pamela. Loving grandfather of Kathleen, Andrew, Sam, Molly, Conner, Shawn, Kira, Tyler, Kevin, and Megan and great grandfather of Makayla, Patrick, and Aria. Dear brother of the late Thomas Crosby. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Parking attendants and an elevator available. Due to state regulations for Covid-19, a mask is required while in the funeral home as well as social distancing at all times.
