Reading, MA — Shirley G. (Sullivan) Harrington, a resident of Wakefield, entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at her daughter’s residence in Reading. She was 91 years of age.
Shirley was born in Malden on April 14, 1929, a daughter of the late Timothy J. Sullivan and Milburgh (Melville) Sullivan. She grew up in Malden where she was educated in the Malden Public School system and graduated from Malden High School. Shirley was a homemaker who took care of her beloved family. She was a regular communicant at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and volunteered at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Shirley was also a foster parent who raised four foster children.
Shirley is the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Walter E. Harrington. She is the devoted mother of Paula Anzalone and her husband Mark of Reading, Paul Harrington of Wakefield, John Harrington of East Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the late Gary Harrington and his surviving girlfriend Julie Parker. She is the loving grandmother of Mark Anzalone, Derek Anzalone, Michelle Harrington Philbrook, and Adam Harrington. She is the beloved sister of the late Robert Sullivan, Milburgh Rogers, Doris Forgeron, and Ruth May.
