Reading Fall Street Faire This Sunday

rfsf16The Reading Fall Street Faire will be held on Sunday, September 11 from 12 – 5PM. The day will kick off at 10 AM with a green 5K sponsored by PureFit Studio of Reading. A special parade commemorating the 15th anniversary of the 911 attacks will take place at 11:30 AM. The parade will begin at the Woburn Street Stage and end at the High Street stage at the intersection of High and Haven Street. It will include a pipe and drum unit as well as uniformed first responders. Local police and fire personnel as well as other officials will be making brief remarks at the High Street Stage. “We are honored to commemorate the anniversary of 911 with a parade and presentation at the beginning of the Fall Street Faire” commented Brian Snell, Event Chair. The Faire and Vendor Booths will be open from 12 PM to 5 PM in downtown Reading. Expect street closures as early as 8 AM that day and for more information, check the website at http://www.readingfallstreetfaire.com/.

This year there will be new entertainers and crafts in the children’s area. New vendors, inflatables and games for both younger children and older teens will offer something for everyone. Tasty food, two stages and a pie eating contest are also part of this great afternoon. The event is attended by over 12,000 people and is a great way to highlight local talent and vendors. The event is nearly entirely volunteer run, and volunteering an hour or two is a great way to give back to this community event. The Faire still needs additional support, so please email volunteers@readingfallstreetfaire.com to get involved and sign up.
