READING – The Reading Police Department will be teaching two Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) classes for women this spring in the Community Room at the Reading Municipal Light Department and at the Reading Police station. These classes are designed to provide a holistic approach to self defense education, supporting the necessity of continuous learning in order to provide realistic options for women. The program includes educational components comprised of lecture, discussion, and physical resistive strategies, all of which are facilitated by certified R.A.D. Instructors.
The first class will be held over four evenings, May 9, 11, 16, & 18 from 6:00pm-10:00pm, and the second class on June 7, 9, 14, & 16 from 6:00pm-10:00pm. The classes are free, but interested individuals need to sign up in advance. Call Reading Community Service Officer Kristin Stasiak at 781-942-6752 or email kstasiak@ci.reading.ma.us to sign up, or for more information and follow @ReadingPolice on Twitter and Facebook.
