Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA—Whether you like to tell a good story or read it, the Library’s got you covered this summer with programs for adults and teens.
Take an hour to spend time with your summer read. At our Silent Reading Parties, you come to the Library with your book. Read it in silence, in the company of other readers, for an hour, and finally, gather in the Community Room to enjoy refreshments and talk with others about your book(s).
Silent Reading Parties will be held on July 7 at 2:30 p.m., July 23 at 6:00 p.m., and August 9 at noon.
If you’re ready to take your writing from the page to the stage, check out our workshops held in collaboration with Reading’s Writers’ Collaborative Learning Center and the professionals at Redwood Speaking. You’ll learn how to write, refine, and tell a compelling story. Then, put it all together at our finale: Reading Voices-Tell Your Story Live!, a story slam on August 23.
Workshops included are: “Own Your Voice: Unleash Your Story in Writing” on July 7, and “The Art of Storytelling and Public Speaking” on July 28 and August 12.
Find details on all of these summer reading programs and more at our online event calendar: readingpl.libnet.info/events or stop by the Library!
