Reading Welcomes Its First Pop-Up Sukkah

For the first time, a Pop-Up Sukkah is coming to Reading

Wakefield, MA — Chabad of Wakefield will host a community event today, Wednesday, September 30, from 3:30–5:30 PM in the parking lot of Santander Bank at 228 Main Street in Reading.

The Pop-Up Sukkah offers local residents an easy, welcoming way to experience the Jewish holiday of Sukkot right in the heart of town. Visitors can stop by anytime during the two-hour window to step inside the sukkah, shake the lulav and etrog, enjoy holiday treats, and take part in children’s crafts.

The event is free and open to everyone.

“We’re excited to bring a public sukkah to Reading for the first time,” said Rabbi Sruly Brook of Chabad of Wakefield. “Our hope is that people can stop by, connect, and enjoy a few minutes of this beautiful holiday right here in their own community.”
