Summer Fun Continues at Wakefield Porchfest 2026!

117 Musical Acts, 59 Host Locations, and 1 Amazing Community of Fans Come Together to Celebrate Live, Local Music 

What Attendees Need to Know for a Fun Event on Saturday, August 29^th

WAKEFIELD, MASS. – The Wakefield Porchfest Committee is finalizing preparations for the third Wakefield Porchfest, which will take place this Saturday, August 29, from 12 – 6 p.m. across the North Shore community. The event will feature 117 musical acts across 59 locations and provide a great opportunity to celebrate summer, get out into the community, and listen to talented musicians from across the Northeast.

The Frequently Asked Questions page on the site provides some great tips on what to expect and how to best enjoy the day, with several listed below: 

• The event website (wakefieldporchfest.com) is the place to find the latest schedule, band lineup, and venues, as all performances are subject to change. 
• Porchfest provides the opportunity to hear musical acts in a variety of genres and styles. Use the schedule to discover new acts. If you don’t like something you hear, there’s always another venue with new acts nearby.
• Use the interactive map on wakefieldporchfest.com to find nearby hosts and musical acts by genre. You can also browse the Town of Wakefield’s Make It Wakefield directory to find restaurants, coffee shops, and small businesses to visit during the day.
•  Porchfest is always *100 percent free* but some artists may ask for tips or sell merchandise (if a host allows it). Please support your local musicians! 
• Want Wakefield Porchfest merchandise? The Albion Cultural Exchange (9 Albion Street) will be the official event headquarters, offering T-shirts, drink coozies, stickers, and a raffle to win tickets to see Ed Sheeran at Gillette Stadium (9/26). There will also be free water, printed schedules, and public restrooms. Open from 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. on the day of the event.
• Use the hashtag #WakefieldPorchfest2026 to share photos and updates on social media! 

We also want to remind fans of some important safety tips to ensure everyone has a great day: 

• Respect the hosts’ properties, their neighbors, and other attendees. Hosts set the rules for their venue. All hosts are unpaid volunteers, as are the bands — without them, this event could not happen. Remember this is a community-forward, family-friendly event.
• Please use sidewalks when moving from house to house. Enjoy live music on the lawn or in the driveway, while keeping all public sidewalks and roadways free and clear.
•  Take care while driving, walking, and moving between venues. This is a highly walkable event, with multiple venues clustered in neighborhoods around Wakefield. If you drive, remember that town parking restrictions are in effect on Saturdays. There are paid on-street parking spaces by the Commuter Rail stations on North Avenue and along Main Street in Greenwood.
•  Alcohol consumption is up to the discretion of each host, but please do not drink on public roads or at public facilities (Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department, Albion Cultural Exchange, etc.). If you decide to drink, please make a plan to use taxis or rideshares to get home.  
• Porchfest hosts are not obligated to provide bathrooms for participants! Public restrooms and/or portable toilets will be available at the Albion Cultural Exchange, Veterans Field, and Spaulding Playground. You can also plan ahead and patronize one of the many local restaurants around Wakefield.
• The Wakefield Porchfest organizers have not closed any streets, although certain hosts have worked with the Town of Wakefield to secure block party permits. Those specific hosts are responsible for following the guidelines provided to them by the Town.
