High Holiday services, CHAI School, PorchFest, and other programs bring the Wakefield community together
Wakefield, MA — The Congregation of Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield invites the community to our High Holiday celebration in our beloved sanctuary to kick off another year of religious celebrations, CHAI school, and special events. Our Reconstructionist services are held in person and online for those who cannot travel. Rabbi Micah Becker-Klein is again joined by Cantor Jonathan Tepper for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
On Saturday, September 5 at 6:30, there will be a potluck dinner, followed by Havdalah and Selichot, which mark the beginning of the High Holiday period. RSVP by Sept. 2. Rosh Hashanah begins on Friday evening, September 11, at 7:30 p.m., with services on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. Tashlish at Lake Quanapowitt is at 4 pm, weather permitting. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 7 pm and continues on Monday, Sept 21 at 9:30 pm
CHAI SCHOOL registration has begun, with classes starting on Tuesday, Sept. 15. All classes will be held from 4 to 5:30 pm. We welcome our new teachers: Angela Schatz and Sharon Drozen. Tot Shabbats will be added to our calendar.
Temple Emmanuel and Linden Tree Concerts will also sponsor Wakefield Porch Fest on Saturday, August 29, with The Millis Berfield Band from 2 to 4 pm. Bring your chairs and blankets for music for all ages.
