Raising Funds for Camp Harbor View

Reading, MA — For Caroline Tyler, crossing the finish line at the 130th Boston Marathon on April 20 will mark not just a personal achievement, but a chance to uplift young people and families in Boston. The 30-year-old Reading native, who now lives in Stoneham with her husband David and four-year-old Labradoodle, Comet, is running her first full marathon in support of Camp Harbor View, a nonprofit dedicated to providing transformative opportunities for youth and families.
A 2013 graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Tyler has already completed four half marathons, but Boston will be her first full 26.2-mile race. “I can’t believe I get to take part in such an iconic race for such an incredible cause”, Tyler shares.
Running for Camp Harbor View
Tyler was drawn to Camp Harbor View for its dedication to serving young people and their families. Founded to offer Boston middle schoolers a life-changing summer camp experience on Boston Harbor at no cost to families, the organization now provides year-round programs including a high school Leadership Academy, family support services, mental health resources, college and career advising, and food and housing assistance.
“As someone who spent a decade working in higher education and student development, the mission really resonates with me,” Tyler said. “Camp Harbor View builds confident young leaders and supports their families every step of the way, which aligns deeply with my own values and experience.”

A Career Dedicated to Community
Tyler’s professional life reflects her passion for empowering others. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Theater and English from the University of Vermont in 2017, she completed her Master’s in Student Development in Higher Education in 2019 at the University of Maine. She has held student affairs roles at Roger Williams University, Tufts University, and Berklee College of Music & The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
She now works as a Program Manager at GrandPad, a company focused on reducing loneliness and isolation among older adults through simple, secure technology. “Supporting meaningful connection, whether for young adults or seniors, has been a consistent thread in my career,” she said.
OrangeTheory Quincy Donation Based Class
Tyler is partnering with Boston-area communities to support her fundraising efforts. OrangeTheory Fitness Quincy will be hosting a donation-based class on Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m. to support Tyler’s marathon fundraiser for Camp Harbor View. It is open to members and non-members for a minimum donation of $26 and all class proceeds will go directly toward her fundraising goal.
Eyes on April 20
With training for Marathon Monday underway, Tyler continues balancing early morning miles with her full-time role at GrandPad. The mission behind the marathon, she says, is what keeps her motivated.
“Successfully running the Boston Marathon is not only a personal dream of mine, but one that is intertwined with supporting young people in Boston to access mentorship, leadership development, and resources that will change the trajectory of their lives,” she said. “Every donation brings me closer to my $15,000 goal, and us as a community closer to that mission”.
