Reading’s 4th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival is this Saturday

Saturday, June 15, from 100-700 pm on the Reading Town Common

Reading Public Library, Reading, MA—Grab your family and friends, take advantage of the glorious weather, and come down to the Town Common on Saturday, June 15, to celebrate Juneteenth! This is a family-friendly event with music, food, speakers, and a pop-up market.

  • Welcome, by Albert Pless, Director, Reading Office of Equity and Social Justice
  • Juneteenth Flag Presentation
  • African American National Anthem: Lift Every Voice and Sing, Please join us in singing! Performed by RMHS Students
  • Stand Up: Cynthia Erivo, Performed by RMHS Students
  • Still I Will Love: Shaina Taub, Performed by: RMHS Students, assisted by Reading Memorial High School Choir
  • The Honorable Jason Lewis, Massachusetts State Senator
  • Interactive Drumming: Brandon Guillermo
  • Dance Performance to I Can’t Breathe by H.E.R., performed by: Timia Jones
  • Guest Presenter: Jamele Adams, on the theme of Love & Loyalty
