Reading’s Finance Committee will be taking up several issues as it meets on Wednesday evening June 29th at 7:30pm in the Conference Room at Reading Town Hall. The committee will consider a request from Town Manager, Bob LeLacheur, to make an end of the year Reserve Fund Transfer. Next the Town Accountant, Sharon Angstrom, will make a proposal for the Finance Committee to consider changes to the Town’s policy on Fund Balances. Angstrom will also help the committee review Reading’s recent debt sale.
The committee then plans to spend thirty minutes discussing the three recent Community Listening Sessions and their reaction to what they heard said at these meetings. After looking at their meeting calendar for the coming year and doing their annual reorganization, the committee plans to discuss what their role should be in helping provide the community with financial information throughout the summer as a potential Proposition 2 1/2 override vote is considered for the fall.
