Wakefield, MA – PAWS Wakefield is happy to announce we are a recipient of a 2023 grant from the Massachusetts “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program. Funds will be used toward spaying and neutering the cats that come into our care before becoming available for adoption.
PAWS’ President Susan DiMeo commented, “Our PAWS foster network has cared for more than 250 homeless cats and kittens this year, and we are very grateful to receive MAC’s help through this spay/neuter grant. In addition, we want to thank Massachusetts drivers for supporting the “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program.”
MAC launched the “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program in 2003 to raise money for spay/neuter efforts at shelters, rescues, and municipal animal control agencies. Since then, MAC has awarded $3,051,000 to many deserving organizations.
