BOSTON—State Senator Jason Lewis, House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones Jr., State Representative Richard M. Haggerty, and the Town of Reading are excited to announce that Reading Memorial High School has received an Innovation Career Pathway designation from the state.
Innovation Career Pathways are designed to give students hands-on coursework and work-based learning experiences in specific high-demand industries. RMHS will be offering programs for both information technology and manufacturing. A key component of Innovation Career Pathways is setting up partnerships with industry partners. This enables students to gain work experience and insight about whether the field they are studying is something that they would like to pursue in college or in a career after high school.
“Congratulations to the teachers and administrators at Reading Memorial High School for achieving this exciting state designation,” said Senator Jason Lewis. “I’m very pleased that students will now have new pathways to explore a number of high-demand industries and have more hands-on learning opportunities in high school.”
“Receiving the Innovation Career Pathways designation is a testament to Reading Memorial High School’s commitment to preparing students for college and a rewarding career after graduation,” said House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. “This designation shows the RMHS teaching staff is dedicated to providing students who are interested in the information technology and manufacturing fields with access to the hands-on technical skills and work-related experience they will need to succeed.”
