I would like to recommend that David Talbot be re-elected to the light board (RMLD). I got to know David while attending the board meetings (via zoom) that were held during covid. He came across as a dedicated and extremely knowledgeable member who added greatly to the discussion topics.

One item in particular he championed was the problems with the Palmer Biomass plant. This was touted as providing clean energy from renewable, biomass sources. But in reality, it would have been an expensive and polluting power plant. David also wrote an Op-Ed for Commonwealth Magazine opposing regulatory special favors for this proposed power plant. When the project got killed, RMLD potentially saved millions of dollars. Here’s a link

David has an extensive background in technology, with emphasis on energy and climate-related issues. Anyone who has sat through an RMLD board meeting would appreciate how valuable this background is. David has been a long-time Reading resident with children in the school system, so he is deeply vested in our community.

Please vote for David Talbot on election day.
