Thomas H. Murphy, Jr. a longtime resident of Reading died on November 13, 2021, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was 68 years of age.
Thomas was born on October 15, 1953, in Lynn, Massachusetts, and was the son of the late Thomas H. and Nellie M. (Fitzgibbon) Murphy.
Thomas was a former partner at Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman, and Fink Law Firm in Boston and was a retired History Teacher from Newton South High School.
Thomas was the cherished brother of Susan E. Smith and her late husband Frank of Orange, CA, and the late Jane L. Flynn and her late husband Gerald. Loving uncle of Michael T. Riley and his wife Christine A. Farrell-Riley and their son Flynn T. Riley all of Quincy.
His funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading, on Saturday, November 20 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30 am. Burial is private. Funeral Home visiting hours will be held on Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 pm.
