October 5, 1939 – February 5, 2021
Carol Miller of Reading Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 5th at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was the beloved wife and high school sweetheart of Paul A. Miller with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Carol was a Reading resident for over 50 years.
Carol, the daughter of the late James and Barbara (Munn) MacDonald, was born on October 5, 1939. She was a graduate of Stoneham High School. Following a career at Addison Wesley Publishing in Reading, Carol became a full-time stay at home mother raising her four children.
In addition to her beloved husband Paul, Carol is survived by her children: Pamela Shirkoff and her husband Robert, Jeffrey Miller and his partner Tori Stevens, Suzanne Miller-Sullivan, Laurie Miller, and son-in-law Sal Restuccia; her nine grandchildren, Andrew Shirkoff and his wife Casey, Paul Shirkoff and his wife Lindsay, Ryan Shirkoff, S.Thomas Restuccia III, Matthew Restuccia, Megan Restuccia, Mark Restuccia, Alec Sullivan and Eliza Sullivan; and her three great-grandchildren Callen, Peyton and Miller Shirkoff.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Claire Hill and her husband William, Judith Stotz and her husband Harry, and James MacDonald Jr and his wife Faun. She leaves nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and countless friends.
Carol was an inspiration and role model as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and rooting for them at all of their sporting events. Carol loved vacationing with family on Martha’s Vineyard, traveling to Aruba, and day trips to Connecticut. We love her and miss her dearly.
Due to Covid, arrangements will be private at Barile Family Funeral Home in Stoneham. Burial will be in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
