Born on April 7, 1933, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, Dan spent his life devoted to his family, his country, and his community. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955, doing 2 tours around the world, and was a decorated war hero. He had a long, dedicated career as a technician with Verizon for 45 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly disposition.

Dan made his home in Reading, Massachusetts, where he built a lifetime of cherished memories with his beloved wife, Margaret Fleming, and their family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; his children, Danny, Caroline, and Eric; his cherished grandchildren, Tommy and Sofia; his sister Mary Foley and her husband Ed; his son-in-law, Tom Ciulla; and his daughter-in-law, Liz Casey. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever treasure the time they shared with him.

Whether sharing stories, making people laugh with jokes, or simply picking up the phone to give his loved ones a daily “shout-out,” he had a special way of making everyone feel remembered and loved.

His kindness, dignity, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. While our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in the countless memories he gave us and the love he shared so freely throughout his life.

Big Dan will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
