Obituary: Ann Galatis-Nemphos, 96

September 16, 1929 – May 11, 2026

Ann Galatis-Nemphos of Reading passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was 96 years old. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Petros and Chrsanthy (Deliyannis) Hagemike and sister of the late Anthony Hagemike.

A longtime devoted member of Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, she dedicated countless hours to her parish community and found great comfort and purpose in her faith. Ann was a past choir member and former president of the Saint Catherine’s Philoptochos Society, where she worked tirelessly to support the church and help those in need. She treasured the friendships and sense of community she built through her church and took great pride in preserving the traditions and values of her Greek Orthodox faith.

Beloved wife of the late Speros Nemphos. Devoted mother of Bill, Christine, Karen, Lisa, and their loving families. Cherished grandmother of Amy, Billy, David, Michael, Alexia, Amanda, Andrew, and Jessica. Loving great-grandmother of Micah, Will, Theo, Bree, and Ellie.

Callings Hours will be held in the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central St., Somerville, MA on Thursday, May 14,2026 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM, immediately followed be a funeral service at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. 
 
Immediately following the funeral service, the family kindly invites everyone to join them for lunch in the Dilboy Banquet Hall, adjacent to the church.
 
 Entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett will be private.
