August 23, 1929 — April 1, 2026

Marie Sciascia, age 96, of Reading, formerly of Wakefield, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Danvers. She was born in Quincy on August 23, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Nathalie (Hurlburt) LeBlanc.
Marie was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Stoneham. She lived in Wakefield from 1963 to 1979 before making her home in Reading. A woman of deep faith, she was an active member of the Church of Christ for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose life was defined by service, love, and unwavering faith. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Sciascia.
She is survived by her eight children: Robert Sciascia of Florida, Marion Sciascia of Peabody, Roger Sciascia of Reading, Elaine Sciascia of Georgia, Marie Pisaturo of Gloucester, Gary Sciascia of Arizona, John Sciascia of Melrose, and Mark Sciascia of Reading. She is also survived by her siblings: Damien Hurlburt of Wakefield, Irene Maffeo of Tewksbury, Bernice Martel of Quincy, and Florence Paonessa of Tewksbury; as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Marie was predeceased by her two brothers, Reginald Hurlburt and Ernest Hurlburt.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday, April 10, from 3:00–6:00 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
