Wakefield, MA — SAVE THE DATE! The Arts Collaborative of Wakefield is proud to present its Annual Winter Artisan Sale in the main gallery of the Albion Cultural Exchange Building in Wakefield, MA. Get into the spirit of the holiday season and come shop a variety of local handmade and 2nd Time Around products including artwork of all kinds – ceramics, jewelry, mixed-media, paintings, prints, photography, and other hand-crafted items. In addition, there will be 2nd time around jewelry and 2nd time around art supplies. We’re pleased that a new local start up group, Creative Chaos Emporium, will be joining this year’s sale with thrifted art supplies. They have collected lots of lovely yarn, fabric, sewing supplies, pens, markers, colored pencils, craft books, beautiful papers and vintage ephemera, as well as some wonderful, nearly-new art kits. All items are perfect for sustainable, affordable holiday gifts & DIY projects. We’ll be accepting clean, reusable donations of arts & crafts supplies at all of our events.

The Arts Collaborative of Wakefield’s (ACW) mission is to support Wakefield and local community visual artists and craftsmen by providing opportunities for artists to network, meet and share ideas, display their work, and create partnership programs between local artists and businesses. A key component of the ACW is its online artist registry used by artists, patrons, sponsors, local business, and enthusiasts. The online registry allows artists to identify themselves in terms of their artwork. The registry is also a great tool for non-artists to check out what is happening in the local art community and to find an artist or craftsmen whose style they like or who they want to engage for a piece of artwork. The Creative Chaos Emporium is a startup thrift shop for arts & crafts supplies where you can re-home creative items you no longer need and find surprising treasures to inspire new projects! People (especially people who like to make things!) often have so much stuff. It can be hard to find a place to donate arts & crafts supplies, so these much-loved items sometimes end up in the trash. Creative Chaos Emporium accepts donations of clean, usable arts & crafts supplies. It’s our goal to find new homes for them & keep them out of the waste stream while providing affordable, accessible art supplies to our community. We’re in the early stages of starting up, so we don’t have a permanent location yet and are hoping to find a location soon on the north shore (in the Wakefield/Reading/Stoneham area). In the meantime, we are hosting several local pop-up events to make some fun stuff and raise awareness.
