Reading Democratic Town Committee Hosts Successful Annual Fundraising Dinner

Reading, MA — The Reading Democratic Town Committee (RDTC) held its annual fundraising dinner on Friday, October 17, at the Old South Church. The event drew a strong turnout of more than fifty attendees, including Senator Jason Lewis, Representative Richard Haggerty, and Reading Select Board member Karen Gately Herrick.

Senator Lewis and Representative Haggerty shared updates on their work in the State House, highlighting recent legislative achievements and priorities for the upcoming session. Both lawmakers also took questions from the audience, engaging in an open discussion about issues affecting the community and the Commonwealth.

Guests enjoyed a hearty dinner of ziti with marinara sauce, meatballs, salad, and bread, followed by a delicious assortment of desserts provided by RDTC volunteers. A silent auction, featuring items donated by committee members, added to the evening’s excitement with enthusiastic bidding throughout the night.

This year’s dinner was one of the RDTC’s most successful to date. The committee expressed gratitude to all attendees, volunteers, and donors for their continued support of local Democratic initiatives.
