Obituary: H.Paul Fortin, 93

July 28, 1932  –  August 31, 2025

H. Paul Fortin, 93, formerly of Reading, Massachusetts, and Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully, reunited with his beloved wife and lifelong partner, Elizabeth (Elloian) Fortin. Born in Everett, Massachusetts, to the late Harold and Gertrude Fortin, Paul was the brother of Blanche Alford, Susan Kiefer, and the late Joan Hammons, and he carried their memory with him throughout his life.

Paul lived a life rooted in love, dedication, and quiet strength. A proud United States Marine, he served two tours between 1947 and 1954 before returning home to build a future for his family. He earned his engineering degree from Tufts University in 1958 and later completed his J.D. at Suffolk University in 1968. His career in laminated paper products took him to Texas, Delaware, and Massachusetts, where he was admired for his steady leadership and integrity.

Family was always at the center of Paul’s life. He was the loving father of Bradford (Carolyn) Fortin and Bryan (Lori) Fortin; proud grandfather of Connor Fortin (Carissa Reynolds), Brendan (Bri) Fortin, Ryan (Isabella) Fortin, Paul (Mary) Fortin, and Danielle Fortin (Chris Argiros); and the adoring great-grandfather of Fredrika, Bodie, Theodore, and Sofia.

Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family, celebrating milestones big and small. Paul will be remembered most for the love and devotion he shared with Elizabeth. He was her constant partner and caregiver, and together they enjoyed many adventures. From golf courses in Reading and Williamsburg to trips across the country and abroad, they built a life filled with laughter, companionship, and cherished friendships.

Paul’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the family he cherished and the memories he helped create.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
