Cantemus Chamber Chorus, with members from across the North Shore, invites interested singers to audition for the 2025-2026 concert season. The Chorus is seeking singers in all voice parts, especially tenors and basses. Auditions will take place September 9 and September 16, 2025, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at First Church in Wenham, 1 Arbor St., Wenham, MA. Prospective singers are invited to visit www.cantemus.org for more information about the chorus. To schedule an audition appointment or ask for more information, singers should email Cantemus’ Chorus Manager at info@cantemus.org.

Cantemus is also recruiting high school and college age singers for its Choral Intern program. Students in all voice parts will be auditioned and chosen to rehearse with the group and participate in all performances. “For young choristers, participating in an ensemble of seasoned singers helps improve musicianship and gain confidence,” said Jason Iannuzzi, Artistic Director of the Chorus. “Past Cantemus interns have gone on to advanced studies in well-regarded vocal programs.” Interns will be paid an honorarium or may choose community service credits instead. More information about the Choral Intern program is available at www.cantemus.org.
Cantemus invites the public to join the chorus for a free Season Preview on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 7:15 p.m., also at First Church in Wenham. Iannuzzi says, “This is always a fun evening of exploring new repertoire. You can join in the singing, or just listen. There’s no admission fee and no pressure of performance at the Preview because it’s just an introduction to the music we’ll be working on as the season progresses. It’s a great way to meet Cantemus.”
Cantemus will perform its first concerts of the season, “Shared Breath, Shared Song: Sacred Music Across Faiths,” on December 7, 13, and 14 in Newburyport, Swampscott, and Gloucester respectively. In May 2026, Cantemus and special guest Miranda Russell and her combo will perform favorites from The Great American Songbook on May 2 and 3 in Beverly and Newburyport.
