Local Student-Athlete Competes at Prestigious Henley Royal Regatta

Henley-on-Thames, England — Abigail Bacci, a graduate student at Oxford Brookes University, recently competed in the renowned Henley Royal Regatta, representing the university in the Island Challenge Cup – a premier rowing event for women’s student eights.
Bacci, a former coxswain for the University of Tennessee, led the Oxford Brookes University ‘B’ boat to victory over Bath University. The team’s run concluded on Day 3 of the regatta with a hard-fought race against A.S.R. Nereus of the Netherlands. The Island Challenge Cup draws top university and college crews from around the world to race on the historic River Thames, making it one of the most prestigious events in collegiate rowing.
A 2018 graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Abigail is completing a master’s degree in International Business and Supply Chain Management. She is the daughter of Erin Calvo-Bacci and Carlo Bacci.
