Children’s book celebrates the Aquarium’s sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation efforts
Boston, MA – On Wednesday, August 6, the New England Aquarium will host a special book signing event featuring Turtles Heading Home!, a new children’s book from Charlesbridge Publishing that highlights the Aquarium’s vital sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation work.
Authored by acclaimed children’s writers Liza Ketchum, Phyllis Root, and Jacqueline Briggs Martin, Turtles Heading Home! follows the inspiring journey of critically endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles from rescue to release. The book, designed for readers ages 6–9, offers a vivid, real-world look at the conservation efforts led by Massachusetts scientists and includes photography by the Aquarium’s own Vanessa Kahn.
The event will begin with a short author talk introducing the book and its conservation themes. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the authors, purchase copies of the book on-site, and have them signed.
