ANNE MARIE NELSON Class of ‘25

Anne Marie Nelson is being recognized for her more than two decades of dedicated service as a Health and Wellness Department teacher at RMHS.

Anne Marie’s first teaching assignment was at RMHS for the 1989-1990 school year. From there, she taught at Parker Middle School for two years. Following a break to raise her two children, she returned to RMHS for the 2003-2004 school year and has been a valued member of the faculty ever since.

Prior to starting her teaching career, Anne Marie was an outstanding and accomplished student athlete, and she brought her passion for athletics and competition into her physical education classes. As a student at Holbrook High School, she won the Massachusetts All-Around State Title in Gymnastics. As a student at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., she continued her athletic achievements by earning All-American status on the vault.

Over her years at RMHS, Anne Marie has built strong and lasting relationships with students, faculty, and staff based on honesty, kindness, and respect. She is known for creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students in her classes. Outside of school, Anne Marie is a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, dog mom, and friend to many.

She looks forward to travelling and spending quality time with her family and friends on Cape Cod. Congratulations, Anne Marie! After many years of dedicated service to the Reading Public Schools, the faculty and staff of RMHS wish you a happy and healthy retirement!
