Throughout his life Bob had many accomplishments, including serving over 30 years as an Electrician at MIT, 10 years at Cambridge City Hospital and as a successful business owner of D&Z Electric, but his most cherished accomplishment was raising his four children: Robert Jr. (Bobby), Michael, Ann and Lori. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his 11 grandchildren and soon-to-be 15 great grandchildren, and was always in attendance at their events including sports games, recitals and weddings.
Bob loved to adventure and spent many days floating down the Merrimack River kayaking or on his pontoon boat with his dog Zeena by his side. This was always followed by an afternoon in his famous garage bar. He also had many vacations to Myrtle Beach, his camper in New Hampshire, and numerous trips with his late wife, Margaret Zarella, of whom he was married to for 56 incredible years.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Anna and Bernard Zarella, his wife Margaret Poole Zarella, his son Michael Zarella, his brother Richard Zarella and Bob and Peggy’s baby twin boy Zarella. His brother Anthony Zarella and his wife Diane of Plymouth, MA. His sister-in-law Cathy Zarella of Kingstree, SC. He was also loved and cherished by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, many dear friends and his dog, Zeena. Bob lived a life filled with many adventures, laughs and, most importantly, lots of love.
