Voter Turnout at 21.3 Percent

Reading, MA—Town Clerk Laura Gemme has released unofficial results from the 2025 local election. Four thousand five hundred and one registered voters—a 21.3 percent turnout—cast ballots to elect candidates to several key town positions.

In the race for Moderator, incumbent Alan Foulds has been reelected with 3,306 votes.

Four candidates vied for two available seats on the Select Board. The two top vote-getters were Karen R. Rose-Gillis, with 2,334 votes, and Melissa Lee Murphy, with 2,308 votes. Murphy was reelected to a full term on the board, and Rose-Gillis earned Mark Dockser’s seat. Dockser chose not to run for reelection. Anthony D’Arezzo, with 2,085 votes, and Christopher Richard Cook, with 1,808 votes, round out the results.

For the Board of Library Trustees, voters elected Patrick T. Egan, with 3,015 votes, and Kelli R. Bacon, who received 2,803 votes in an uncontested contest.

In the uncontested race for the Municipal Light Board, David Allan Talbot received 2,920 votes, and Adam Richard Swanson received 2,741 votes.

In the School Committee contest, incumbent Thomas Wise led the way with 2,530 votes, followed by Lara Durgavich with 2,412 votes. The third candidate, Dana Thomas Guarino, earned 1,990 votes. Wise retained his seat on the committee with Durgavich replacing long-time member Chuck Robinson, who chose not to run for reelection.
