Dear Reading Community,

I am excited to announce my candidacy for re-election as a Precinct 2 Town Meeting member.

Since moving to Reading in 1995, my wife and I have been fortunate to build our lives in a town filled with caring neighbors and a strong sense of community. By 2000, I became a Town Meeting member and later served three years on CPDC, where I helped balance responsible development with community impact. During this time, Reading created its last master plan. Recognizing the need for an update, I introduced (and Town Meeting overwhelmingly approved) an Instructional Motion in April 2023, urging the Select Board to establish an Ad Hoc Master Plan Committee. I will continue advocating for this priority, especially given Reading’s current fiscal challenges.

Over the years, my efforts have led to meaningful results for the town:

  • I successfully amended the Town’s budget to fund a public safety social worker, addressing the rising need for mental health services.
  • Following my 2021 letter to the Select Board on prioritizing elder services and expanding space for the Senior Center, I introduced an Instructional Motion in April 2022, helping catalyze action and later joining the Reading Center for Active Living Committee (ReCALC).
  • I remain committed to responsible fiscal oversight as Reading considers major capital projects, debt exclusions, and potential operational overrides. It is crucial to scrutinize every initiative to ensure taxpayer funds are used efficiently.

My approach is rooted in common sense and a commitment to putting Reading residents first. I have fought against state overreach, advocated for community-driven solutions, and prioritized fiscal responsibility. I welcome your questions (please reach out via the Town’s website), and I ask for your vote on April 8th.

Thank you for your support!
