Spring is an exciting time for our town, and I am excited to run for election to the Board of Library Trustees. I greatly value our library and look forward to the future as we work towards continuing the momentum, providing learning opportunities and much more to everyone in our community.

I grew up here and as a child I recall countless hours spent at the old library. My husband and I brought our three kids up here. We left briefly after the children completed their educations at the Reading Public Schools, only to return soon after to a new home here in town. I am a professional librarian by training and have worked as a librarian for over 30 years.

What motivates me to serve as a trustee is the fact that the RPL provides the environment and opportunities for learning and personal growth for all members of our community. I have such pride in our library. We provide residents with the right to free and equal access to information. The library is a place for community gatherings and lifelong learning and is a valuable community asset.

As trustee, I will be responsible to the library and the public served through the adoption of policies and practices which are fiscally, socially, and environmentally prudent. I hope you’ll head to the polls on April 8th to make your voices heard. I am optimistic I can contribute in a positive way in 2025 and beyond.

Thank you.
