Obituary: Jean (Severance) Lawrence, 84

October 16, 1940 – March 22, 2025

Jean (Severance) Lawrence, 84, a longtime resident of Reading, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday morning, March 22.  She was the wife of the late Allen H. Lawrence.

Born in Colchester, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and the late Juanita (Bombard) Severance. 

Jean had been an active member of the Greenwood Union Church in Wakefield.  She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and travel.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was especially proud of her three grandchildren.

Jean was the beloved wife of 59 years of the late Allen H. Lawrence, who passed away in 2021.  She is survived by one son, Gregg A. Lawrence and his wife Colette of Tewksbury; one daughter, Jan L. Krusz and her husband Richard of Charlestown, RI; and three grandchildren, Kaila Lawrence, Taylor Krusz, and Nick Krusz.  She is also survived by her brother, Malcolm Severance of Colchester, VT; and she was preceded in death by her two sisters, the late Wilma Severance Patton, and the late Joyce Severance Sweeney.
